In need of date nights!

My husband and I have been together since my first year in college.  We dated through college and moved into together when we moved up to the bay area while I did my teaching credential program.  A year or so later he proposed and about a year after that we got married.  I was 24 and he was 23.  I did not feel like we were too young or too stupid to be getting married.  To me, it was the best choice.  My family supported me and have often said that we have the best relationship that they know.   We have tough times but I think every couple does, but we talk things through.

Lately it has been a bit jumbles in our relationship though because we have both had major life changes in the last year.  First, we had our son nine months ago.  Then I decided and he agreed that I would take the year off to be a stay at home mom.  Next, he decided to get a new job because his last one caused him much strife.  Last, although it has not happened we have strongly considered moving.

So, these things have made it more challenging to be on the same page because we both have so much in our own heads that we are worrying about that when we try to talk we can't seem to get it all out.  I love him so much and he is my best friend.  I just wish we could have a date night or five to be able to TALK, really talk, not talk in code because we are around the kids.  For those of you with kids, I know you get that.

I guess I am going to be planning some date nights, very soon. :)
